Marc Forsyth, a react adjuster with State Farm Insurance who was in Pilger, said all but about 20 homes appeared to have been affected in some way. Forsyth said the company began contacting residents affected by the storm Monday evening. He met with three families that night and handed them checks to cover temporary housing, food and clothes. They also started the claims process. The company had a full team of adjusters and a manager in town by 8 a.m., as well as adjusters in outlying areas.
