Firefighters are battling a three-alarm fire on Lantana Drive that is burning two homes. An hour after the fire erupted, flames could be seen shooting out of one of the homes, and plumes of black smoke billowed in the sky. All the residents of the two homes made it out safely and there were no immediate injuries, according to Capt. Jeff Hunter, of the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety. The fire broke out at 9:25 a.m., and at 10:30, flames were still visible as dozens of residents watched from across the street. Hunter said the roof of a two-story house partially collapsed during the fire.
