Several families were forced out of their home after a fire burned through the roof of a South Florida apartment building, Wednesday. Lauderhill Fire Rescue responded to reports of a fire at 5719 N.W. 27th Court in Lauderhill, just before 5 a.m. Resident Joseph Fillmore could be seen packing up whatever was left after the fire took over in the middle of the night. "Around 2 o’clock, maybe a little bit after 2, the police officer, a Lauderhill Police Officer was banging on our window," said Fillmore. "That fire was huge. You could pretty much feel the heat."
