The severe weather that moved across northern Hartford County Sunday evening caused a house fire on Prospect Street and brought a tree down onto houses on Crescent Beach Drive. The fire at 95-97 Prospect St. was caused by a lightning strike, Thompsonville Fire Department Capt. Keith Pliszka said. Firefighters were called to the house at 7:34 p.m. and had the fire under control in about 40 minutes.
