National Weather Service Confirms Microburst Hit New Hampshire

National Weather Service officials have confirmed it was a microburst that hit Ipswich Saturday evening and caused serious damage. Officials said the wind from the microburst that struck about 5:30 p.m. reached 80-90 mph. A National Weather Service team confirmed Sunday afternoon that Hollis, N.H., was also hit by a microburst Saturday. That microburst had maximum wind speed of 110 mph and traveled a mile in a 200-yard path. On Sunday, the NWS also confirmed microbursts struck Leyden and Bernardston.
