Buildings in Atlantic City Damaged by Massive Fire

Wednesday, October 1st, 2014 Property

Crews battled a massive fire in Atlantic City overnight that damaged several buildings and displaced more than a dozen people just steps from the boardwalk and casinos. The three-alarm fire broke out around 10 p.m. Tuesday in an alteration shop along the 1100 block of Atlantic Avenue, between Pennsylvania and North Carolina Avenues, about a block from the boardwalk. Fire officials say the flames quickly spread to five multi-unit buildings, many of them first-floor storefronts with apartments above, causing two of them to partially collapse.
