Minnesota School District Wants Larger Insurance Payout

St. Cloud school district officials believe the district should get more money from insurance to replace Roosevelt school. The district is hiring a public insurance adjuster to help negotiate the amount it will receive to replace Roosevelt. It disputes that the $4.8 million that Travelers Insurance has offered to pay to replace the 56,000-square-foot school that was destroyed in a June fire is enough. The district believes it will cost more to replace the school, said Kevin Januszewski, director of business services. "We think it is closer to $6 million or $7 million," Januszewski said.
