8 Firefighters Injured Battling Storage Facility Fire

 Monday, October 27, 2014

Authorities say eight firefighters were injured after battling a large and extremely hot fire that engulfed a storage facility in Venice. Los Angeles fire spokesman Brian Humphrey says more than 300 firefighters battled the blaze at the Extra Space Storage facility into the early hours Sunday, after it broke out around 7:30 p.m. Saturday.
Humphrey says three firefighters were taken to the hospital and expected to be released. None had life-threatening injuries. The building’s metal roof made it difficult for heat and smoke to escape.
