A northern Indiana sheriff says 14 people aboard an Amtrak train were injured when the train traveling from Indianapolis to Chicago collided with a semitrailer that crossed into its path. White County Sheriff Pat Shafer tells The Associated Press 14 people complaining of pain were taken to local hospitals. He says he didn’t know the severity of the injuries. Amtrak spokesman Marc Magliari says no one aboard the Hoosier State line suffered serious or life-threatening injuries in the collision about 25 miles north of Lafayette.
