Yesterday’s storm caused almost 200 crashes across the state, including several chain reaction crashes. The storm also sent lots of cars into ditches along the interstates and highways. The Iowa State Patrol covered 171 crashes, including one fatality, and about 237 calls were received to assist drivers. KCCI’s Kim St. Onge boarded a plane with Trooper Scott Pigsley, who is one of three pilots with the Iowa State Patrol who searched the interstates Tuesday for stranded vehicles after Monday’s snow storm.
