25,000 Chrysler Vehicles Recalled For Transmission Problem

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles is recalling more than 25,000 vehicles worldwide for a transmission problem that may prevent the cars from being shifted into park. On Thursday, the automaker said that certain Chrysler 200 vehicles from the 2015 model year with V6 engines were affected. Customers with these models should activate the vehicle’s parking brake before turning off the engine, because the shifter can wrongly indicate that the car is in park. Dealers will inspect the recalled cars and, if required, replace their transmissions, which are supplied by ZF, the German car parts maker.
