Semi Crashes And Burns On Oregon Interstate

 Monday, April 20, 2015

Oregon State Police say a semi being driven by 23-year-old Casey Leppert of Caldwell left its lane of travel in westbound I-84 and crashed into a concrete barrier early Saturday. The crash damaged the center barrier and resulted in the spilling of 150 gallons of diesel fuel which then caught fire. Gilliam County authorities say none of the diesel fuel made it into the nearby Columbia River. Westbound traffic was detoured off the freeway and onto the Arlington interchange while, according to the Oregon Dept. of Transportation, one lane of eastbound 84 remained open.
