No one was hurt Monday morning after a thrift store collapsed in Hillcrest, the San Diego Fire Department said. The second floor of the Thrift Trader at 1644 University Avenue near Centre Street collapsed beneath the weight of boxes full of vinyl records around 4 a.m. Firefighters responded a few minutes later and immediately searched through the store, quickly determining there was no one inside. Debris from the second floor shattered the first floor window and was pouring onto the sidewalk.
