Lightning Strike Starts House Fire In Glasgow, Delaware

Lightning from Tuesday’s storm hit a house in Glasgow, starting a fire that caused heavy damage, state fire officials said Wednesday. The fire was reported at 6:03 p.m. in the 100 block of Haut Brion Ave. in the Meritage neighborhood off Frazer Road, Chief Deputy State Fire Marshal Robert Fox said. Crews from Aetna Hose Hook & Ladder Company of Neark arrived to find the house full of smoke and a fire in the basement, Fox said. The fire, ruled accidental, caused an estimated $200,000 damage to the home, he said.
