Wind Damage In DC Metro Area After Powerful Overnight Storms

Many homes woke up in the dark Wednesday morning after powerful storms struck our region overnight. Several neighborhoods in the city and surrounding counties reported downed trees and flooded roadways. Utility companies across the DMV reported outages as a result of the severe storms. In Bowie, Md., emergency crews responded to a gas station that was heavily damaged by strong winds. The winds were powerful enought to flip the canopy that coveres the gas pumps. No one was injured.
