CSX Train Cars Derail In Nashville

Tuesday, July 7th, 2015 Property

Several train cars derailed in the Berry Hill neighborhood of South Nashville shortly after 7 p.m. Monday. Four CSX train cars carrying nonhazardous, plastic pellets flipped over behind the Goodwill at 780 Berry Hill Road. It will take many hours and potentially the entire night to upright the cars using heavy duty machinery and clear the intersection, according to Lt. John Gleixner from the Berry Hill Police Department. Gleixner said authorities do not know what caused the train cars to derail, but the Tennessee Department of Transportation and CSX will make the determination once the site is cleared.
