A home in Waunakee suffered $300,000 in damage after it was struck by lightning Thursday night, according to the Waunakee Fire Department.The fire started at 7:30 p.m. at the home, in the 1200 block of Dartmouth in Waunakee. According to the fire department, the home was fully engulfed when firefighters arrived. Chief Gary Acker said the fire was knocked down in about 45 minutes, and fully extinguished in about an hour. Acker said the fire burned off roof trusses, but the rest of the house remains intact.
