Drivers were stranded at a Whole Foods store in Portland on Wednesday as flooding closed many streets in the city.AAA of Northern New England had to call in tow trucks from across Maine and even New Hampshire to help respond to more than 1,500 calls, according to a spokesperson. The water receded later in the afternoon, and employees were cleaning up. Trucks were seen coming and going all day. Whole Foods employees said roads around the store flood when there is heavy rain. Many people tried wading through the water, which is not recommended by safety officials.
