Severe Storms Batter Central Texas

A strong line of storms sweeping east through the state is producing violent storms. Various of news agencies are reporting a tornado touching down near Floresville, just southeast of San Antonio. Classes have been canceled there. Photos from the area show a vehicle blown several stories into the air and resting on a motel roof. According to National Weather Service radar, the main line of storms extends from Central Texas well into Oklahoma, with the heaviest rains and most violent pocket of storms leaving the San Marcos area and tracking northeast toward Dallas-Fort Worth.
