Nearly 90K Pounds Of Beef Patties Recalled, May Contain Wood

The US Department of Agriculture issued a recall for more than 89,500 pounds of ground beef patties. The Food and Safety Inspection Service (FSIS) said Sam’s Choice Black Angus Vidalia Onion patties produced between November 19, 2015 and December 9, 2015 may contain wood materials. According to FSIS, the contaminant came in with an ingredient and was discovered during production. The meat comes in two-pound boxes containing six patties of beef with 19 percent Vidalia onion.
