Wednesday, January 27th, 2016 Property

The New Orleans Fire Department is still fighting a 6-alarm fire near the Roosevelt Hotel in downtown New Orleans. A portion of the inside of the building has collapsed, forcing firefighters to abandon efforts to look for hotspots. New Orleans Fire Superintendent Timothy McConnell said the outside of the building is in "great danger’ of collapsing. The six-alarm fire is in the 1000 block of Canal Street. One firefighter suffered burn injuries to his hand, but there no reports of other injuries in the incident. Several engines were pumping water from above to battle the fire.
