Fire Damages 18 Units In Fort Worth Apartment Complex

A two-alarm fire damaged 18 units at a Fort Worth apartment complex Sunday afternoon. Lt. Kyle Faulkner with the Fort Worth Fire Department said they received a call concerning an apartment fire at 4:30 p.m. When units arrived at the Sandshell at Fossil Creek apartments, heavy fire was showing, Faulkner said.Sixteen units in one building were damaged by smoke, fire or water. Two additional units were damaged in a second building at the complex. The fire was under control after roughly 30 minutes, Faulkner said. One person suffered a minor burn injury, but some residents lost almost everything in the blaze.

Amanda Cox said she heard a strange sound while she was in the shower in her top-floor apartment. When she stepped out, smoke was in her apartment.
