Construction Death Raises Industry Concerns

One of the companies involved in the Interstate 4 Ultimate project is already under federal investigation after two workers died on the job just months before last week’s tragic accident. Last Wednesday, Marvin Franklin was run over by a co-worker in a dump truck. He was pronounced dead shortly after the incident in the I-4 Ultimate construction zone north of Kennedy Boulevard in Maitland. That accident is still under investigation. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating Lane Construction after a Tampa worker died in a similar manner last September.
