The Roanoke City Fire Department says a lightning strike caused a house fire Tuesday afternoon. One Roanoke firefighter also had to be hospitalized after falling down an elevator shaft while responding to the fire. It happened at a home in the 3900 block of Bosworth Dr SW in Roanoke. That firefighter -- whose name has not been released -- is expected to make a full recovery. We’ve also learned a second firefighter sustained a minor eye injury but is also expected to be okay. It was a dramatic scene - flames through the roof when firefighters responded.
