Driver Plows Through Convenience Storefront After Pedal Mixup

Police in Clinton released startling video of an SUV crashing through the front of a convenience store. They said it happened at the Shell gas station at the intersection of East Main Street and Beach Park Road on Sept. 1. The video shows two angles of the car slamming through the store. One angle shows the clerk, Neal Patel, becoming pinned by debris. The gas station is still closed down for renovation but the store owner said they hope to reopen next week. The crash caused serious but non-life-threatening injuries to Patel, who was behind a counter.
