3 Dead, 5 Injured Following Head-On Interstate Collision

Three people are dead and five others are injured after an early morning accident involving several vehicles. The accident occurred around 2:30 a.m. on Interstate 44 (I-44), in the westbound lanes in Franklin County. The Missouri State Highway Patrol said Robert Batson was headed eastbound in the westbound lanes of I-44 when his vehicle collided with another vehicle. Batson’s 2004 Saab 2.0 struck the left-front corner of Sushma Settipalli, who was driving a 2013 Toyota Sienna.
Authorities said the collision sent Batson’s vehicle off the left side of the highway, and stopped in the median cables.
