Crews spent most of Monday morning and afternoon picking up totaled BMW cars after a train carrying the luxury automobiles derailed in Fairfield County on Sunday. According to county officials, the train was on its way to Charleston from the Greer BMW plant when it derailed in Jenkinsville near Highway 215 just after 3 p.m. Two locomotives carrying 12 train cars and 120 cars were damaged in the derailment. Surprisingly, despite the carnage and mangled steel littering the ground, no one was injured.
