Thursday, March 2nd, 2017 Property

A house goes up in flames after being struck by lightning in Washington County, Virginia. Fire crews arrived at the scene on Lauralee Court around 3 p.m., on Wednesday. Firefighters said it doesn’t happen often. But with Wednesday’s forecast, they were prepared. In fact, before arriving on the scene, the Abingdon Fire Department actually came from working a fire in Meadowview, where lightning hit a hay barn. "I looked out the window and saw the fire come out of that one space there," neighbor Barbara Hamilton said.
