Friday, April 21st, 2017 Property

Three adults and a dog escaped from a fire today that destroyed a lakefront mansion in Bloomfield Township. “The house is about 15,000 square feet,” said Bloomfield Township Fire Chief Dave Piche. “At this point, it’s pretty much a total loss.”
The home overlooks Upper Long Lake from Blue Heron Court in a gated community just west of Forest Lake Country Club near Telegraph and Square Lake roads. Tax records indicate the home is valued at about $2 million. Piche said the homeowners were awakened by smoke alarms and called 911 about 4:10 a.m.
