Officials responded to a fire at Hickory Run Apartments on West Main Street on Tuesday afternoon. Hendersonville Police said no one has been injured in the fire and everyone safely evacuated from Building 7, but two or three pets were killed. Ten units at the apartment are now uninhabitable. The building did not have a sprinkler system, but officials said it was built before the sprinkler requirement was added in Hendersonville. Crews had to deal with high winds but managed to keep the flames from spreading to other buildings.
