Back to back storms pummeled parts of central Nebraska over the weekend, and on Monday some farmers got a look at the damage left behind. Custer County was one of the hardest hit places, and crop damage was widespread. Just south of Ansley, corn could be seen knocked down to less than half its size, bean crops beaten up by hail, and even a pivot flipped over. According to the National Weather Service, in Custer County there were reports of hail up to 3 inches, winds up to 72 miles per hour, and flooding. Now farmers are working to file insurance claims.
