Blewett Pass was reduced to one lane of alternating traffic for about four hours Wednesday after a semi-tractor rolled off the road, spilling a load of wood chips. Troopers say the driver was eating a taco when he lost control of the truck. Driven by a Wenatchee man, the semi was northbound at about 10:50 a.m. on Highway 97 at milepost 170 when it drifted onto the shoulder and soft gravel, over-corrected and then rolled, according to Trooper Brian Moore, spokesman for the Washington State Patrol. The semi came to rest blocking the northbound lane and the inside southbound lane, Moore said, with wood chips covering the two lanes.
