Grove City experienced high winds during Tuesdays storms. The city says 450 homes and 20 power poles were damaged as a result of the powerful gusts from an EF1 tornado. The southwestern Columbus suburb experienced some of the worst conditions during Tuesdays severe weather with most of that damage along Hoover Road. Hundreds of homes were still without power Wednesday morning. Approximately 600 customers will remain without power until Sunday, according to an AEP Ohio official. Crews will first have to clean up the damage first, then install steel poles, which is a recent and more durable innovation, the official said.
