Lemonade Slaps ONE Insurance With Lawsuit

Insurtech giant Lemonade has filed a lawsuit against ONE Insurance, its parent wefox Group and founder Julian Teicke, accusing the defendants of copyright infringement, breach of contract and violations of the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act. An excerpt of the complaint filed in New York by Lemonade states: “Defendants repeatedly accessed the Lemonade app and Lemonade website without authorization and in violation of the terms of service, copying and extracting the content and arrangement of the app, and incorporating that material into what ultimately would become an application for home and liability insurance offered by ONE.”
