Two years ago, a Vestal man allegedly faked a report about a diamond ring that had gone missing and received more than $28,000 for the insurance claim. Earlier this month, New York State investigators made an arrest. Michael P. Pinco, 56, of Kane Drive, was charged with felony counts of third-degree grand larceny and third-degree insurance fraud. The charges were filed Oct. 10 in Vestal Town Court by the state Department of Financial Services Criminal Investigations Unit. Court records obtained by The Press & Sun-Bulletin/pressconnects.com allege Pinco submitted a fraudulent insurance claim Sept. 13, 2016 for a diamond and setting.
