More than 50 vehicles were involved in a pileup on Interstate 81 in Schuylkill County, Pa., on Monday, killing at least three people and closing a seven-mile stretch of the highway. Blinding snow squalls were moving through the region at the time.
At least three people have died, Schuylkill County coroner David J. Moylan told the Associated Press.
Moylan didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment Monday evening.
The Schuylkill County Emergency Management Agency told The Washington Post that 24 people had been transported to area hospitals.
