Too much rain that fell too fast is what led to Saturdays catastrophic flooding along the Peckman River, officials said. "We figure that as much as 4-and-a-half inches fell within a span 50 minutes," Little Falls Mayor James Damiano said. The water in the river rose by about 5 feet. It was "so fast," local officials said, there was no time to react and warn residents. "Normally we get at least 20 to 30 minutes to warn people," said Woodland Park Mayor Keith Kazmark. That didnt happen. The rainwaters force swept away vehicles parked on the property of the Route 46 Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge dealership into the Peckman River.
