A Laser Beam & the Residential Claim

At the next test station, another technician places it in front of a tightly focused video camera, feeding a magnified image of the cross section to her PC screen. Watching intently, she adjusts a control dial. Satisfied, she taps the keyboard. The precise measurement from the digital caliper system is added to the computer file tracking the case. As it moves through the testing facility, the sample will encounter a laser beam, surgical steel blades, electronic scales, and, perhaps, a chemical test. All are part of eight evaluations to determine what it is made of, how it was made, and, most importantly, the available like-kind-and-quality replacements.
