Adjuster’s Records Request Helps Reveal Auto Insurance Fraud

A Milton woman is charged with fraud/making a false insurance claim and theft by deception for trying to collect insurance by lying about a vehicle fire. Charges were filed by the PA Office of the Attorney General against Nicole Christine Edison, 26, of 144 North Mill Road, Milton. In the affidavit of probable cause filed on Edison, special agent Eric Norman, who is employed by the OAG, reported Edison filed a claim on her car with Safe Auto insurance on June 14, 2017, after a fire started under the hood, causing extensive damage to the vehicle. Records allegedly indicate that Edison added comprehensive and collision insurance to her policy with Safe Auto via the internet on June 13, 2017.
