Ambulance crashes, tips over with patient on board

An ambulance crashed in rural Grant County while transporting a patient to the hospital, according to the Grant County Sheriff’s Department. Investigators said the ambulance from Hazel Green was dispatched Wednesday to help a person who had collapsed. The ambulance was taking the patient to a hospital when it went into the ditch on the east side of Rock Cut Road and tipped on its side at about 12:38 p.m. The driver, Ryan C. Fields, 25, lost control of the ambulance on a sharp curve, according to deputies.
