An Amtrak passenger train on its way to Chicago collided Friday afternoon with a semi-tractor-trailer truck in southwest suburban Wilmington. The incident occurred around 4 p.m. at North River Road west of Illinois Route 53 in Wilmington. The Texas Eagle hit a truck that was obstructing the tracks, according to a statement from Amtrak. The truck was severed from its trailer, and its load - packages of bacon - were scattered all over the scene. There were 203 passengers aboard; no one was injured, Amtrak said.
