The hurricane season is officially over and it was mostly calm this year, especially here in Southern New England.
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration predicted that there would be 8-13 named storms; 3-6 hurricanes and 1-2 major storms. For the 2014 season, the predictions were spot on. There were eight named storms, six hurricanes, and two major storms. Although, the season’s first storm was the most significant threat to Southern New England. Hurricane Arthur ruined many Fourth of July barbeques and literally rained on our parades across the region.
