To help people prepare for these weather emergencies, the MetLife Consumer Education Center has created two free brochures -- ``Preparing for Hurricanes' and ``Preparing for Floods.' Based on information from the National Weather Service, FEMA and the American Red Cross, ``Preparing for Hurricanes' encourages advanced evacuation planning, including bringing non-secured materials inside and purchasing the items needed to protect your home.
