City’s Insurer To Cover Stadium Turf Ruined By Concertgoers

Wednesday, November 2nd, 2016 Property Subrogation

City taxpayers will pay just $63,000 of the $388,000 cost of replacing the artificial turf at Veterans Memorial Stadium that was ruined during a concert following an agreement by Travelers Insurance to pay $325,000 to install the new turf, Mayor Daniel Rivera told the City Council Tuesday. "Its a big deal because the insurance companies are involved and making sure that at the end of the day, the companies pay and the city of Lawrence does not," Rivera told the council. "Instead of us going after Floripa Productions, our insurance company is going to go after them and anyone and everyone who had anything to do with this."
