The parents of a Clarksville girl who was fell from a lift in her wheelchair while being loaded into a school bus have notified two Clark County school districts of their intention to sue for negligence. Seven-year-old Julianna Stones parents said their daughter suffered a broken nose and her feeding tube was dislodged Aug. 5 after a driver loading the girl and her wheelchair failed to lock the girls chair wheels on a lift. When the front wheels were caught, the girl and her chair fell to the ground, according to a tort claim notice filed Monday with Clarksville and Greater Clark County schools. Spokeswomen for both districts, Nikolette Langdon of Clarksville, and Erin Bojorquez of Greater Clark, said in emails there would be no comment from school officials. Disabled students in the county receive services through a countywide special education cooperative overseen by Greater Clark. Jeffersonville lawyer Larry Wilder filed the claim on behalf of the girls parents, Brian Stone and Miranda Higdon.
