Cliff Erosion Endangers Couples Washington Geodesic Home

This Thanksgiving, Teresa Shaw and her husband, Lance, are hoping 150,000 people chip in $1 to help save their dream house from a crumbling cliff overlooking Washington’s Pilchuck River. “It’s asking a lot and it’s hard to ask — but here it is,” Teresa Shaw, a correctional officer and Navy veteran, said in a video on a GoFundMe site. “I just want to save my home.”The Shaws’ home — a geodesic dome, complete with a beautiful view and turkey run — is now just 54 feet from a 250-foot drop down to the river.

For two years, the couple’s yard has been sliding into the river. Their garage was recently slapped with limited-access tags by Snohomish County.
