Monday, July 18th, 2011 Auto

Strong storms in southern Maryland this week nearly sent a tractor-trailer off the Harry Nice Bridge. The incident occurred Wednesday afternoon in Charles County. A Maryland Transportation Authority spokesman told Fredericksburg.com that it was "by the grace of God" that the tractor-trailer didn’t go over the bridge. The UPS driver was not seriously hurt, and the truck wasn’t badly damaged. Storms in the area Wednesday afternoon produced winds close to 60 mph.
