A 50-year-old construction worker has died after being trapped in a sewer lift in St. Charles. According to Mayor Sally Faith, the City of St. Charles received a report from KCI Construction Company that one of their employees working at the Boschertown Lift Station died Tuesday afternoon. According to sources at KCI, the employee was apparently working in the wet well in the 3400 block of Highway 94. It’s unclear what caused the man’s death, but emergency responders said a monitor showed signs of a “hazardous air environment,” which could potentially mean low oxygen or some type of hazardous fumes.
