Construction worker killed, one taken to hospital after building collapses in Greenfield

Authorities and witnesses say a 32-year-old construction worker was killed after a building collapsed in downtown Greenfield this morning. Emergency responders removed a second injured construction worker from the rubble this morning, and removed the body of the man who was killed about 3 p.m. The injured construction worker was taken to a hospital. Greenfield City Fire Chief Bob Dudley said Legends Little Italy Pizza on Front Street collapsed at about 9:30 a.m. The two construction workers, who were cousins, were working in a vacant lot beside the building, and debris fell on them, Dudley said.
