Cost of reinsurance down except in U.S.
Friday, January 5th, 2007 PropertyThe price of reinsurance is holding steady or falling in most parts of the world but insurers with portfolios exposed to US hurricanes are still facing higher reinsurance costs, according to Willis. The world’s third-largest insurance broker said that for both property and liability reinsurance cover, rates were flat or had fallen by between 5 per cent and 10 per cent in parts of Europe not exposed to windstorms; parts of the US not exposed to natural catastrophes; as well as in Asia, Australia and Latin America.
